Call for Volunteers

The Department of Ophthalmology is proud to be co-hosting the 2023 Optica Fall Vision Meeting at our South Lake Union campus from October 5 to 8. This conference brings together experts across diverse fields of vision science studying everything from the retina to the brain with the goal of understanding basic mechanisms and implications for disease and disorder.

We are looking for community volunteers to help out with organizational tasks during the day of the event, including set-up and take-down of tables and food, check-in, providing attendees with information and directions, and running various on-site errands as needed. No specific expertise is required.

In return for your help, you’ll receive a t-shirt, and if you’re interested in obtaining a WA State Food Worker Card (not required), we will reimburse you the cost of the online course. You are also welcome to attend any sessions before or after your shift on the day you help out. If space permits (to be determined last week of September), you’ll be invited to our Saturday evening banquet.

If you are interested in helping out, please fill out this form (https://forms.gle/6L9Zh1Wct4yvyg768). You are welcome to sign up for more than one shift. If you are interested but not available for a full shift, let us know and we can work something out. Please get in touch with Kim Meier, kimmeier@uw.edu, if you have any questions.
